The work of psychology in social assistance in the pandemic context: : An experience report

This article concerns the report of experience of psychologists in a CREAS of a small municipality of Paraná in the pandemic context. The data were obtained through the description of aspects experienced by the authors in their work environment, as well as notes and administrative data from CREAS from March 2020 to December 2021. As an aggravating factor in the situation of population vulnerability, there was the emergence of the global pandemic of COVID-19. This event affected health, but the social system, the economy, work and interpersonal relationships. Although care equipment was considered essential by the government during the pandemic, they did not receive the necessary attention and care, being excluded from the priority group in the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19. There was a work overload and the illness of workers, it is important that the government and managers review the working conditions offered to these professionals.
