Resumo: This study aims to know the cases of returned adopted children and their behavior changes when they were returned to host institutions from the perspective of professionals from such places. For this, the qualitative research was done through a semi-structured interview composed of 12 questions, with six participants from two host institutions in two cities of Santa Catarina. A Psychologist, a Social Worker and a Social Educator in each institution were interviewed. The results indicated flaws in the process of preparing applicants for adoption, the tendency to blame children for their return, changes in the behavior of the children after the return, and parents' difficulties in adapting and coping with their expectations regarding adoption.

Para isto, a pesquisa qualitativa foi feita através de uma entrevista semiestruturada composta por 12 perguntas, com seis participantes de duas instituições de acolhimento em dois municípios de Santa Catarina, sendo entrevistadas uma Psicóloga, uma Assistente Social e uma Educadora Social em cada instituição.
