Resumo: This study investigated the relationships and attachment behaviors that humans develop in the interaction with their pets through an individual and semi-structured interview with six participants from 23 to 56 years old. The information collected were analyzed through content analysis, and the results confirm previous research that points to strong bonds between humans and their pets, including features such as sense of responsibility, well-being and grieving process towards of animal loss. In this sense, this study points out that the interaction between humans and their animals presents evidences that support the importance of the continuity of research in this area, once the interspecies relation can promote well-being to humans, as well as practices in different modalities and therapeutic activities in the enlarged clinic field.

Os dados coletados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo, e os resultados confirmam pesquisas anteriores que apontam fortes vínculos entre humanos e seus animais de estimação, incluindo características como senso de responsabilidade, bem-estar e processo de luto diante da perda do animal.
