The surnames of the students of IFRS campus Bento Gonçalves: an onomastic study

Resumo: The present paper proposes to make an anthroponymic study from the surnames of students at IFRS campus Bento Gonçalves. Therefore, a survey of 20 surnames that occur more frequently was carried out, which were divided by ethnic group and historically and etymologically analyzed, also taking into account the use of these surnames in Rio Grande do Sul and in Brazil. Besides discussing issues inherent onomastic and, in it, anthroponymy, as a conclusion, it was found that there is a close relation between the surname of the students enrolled in the campus and the region where it is located, especially as for the ethno-linguistic origin of these surnames.

Para tanto, fez-se um levantamento dos 20 sobrenomes que ocorrem com mais frequência, os quais foram divididos por origem étnica e analisados histórica e etimologicamente, levando-se em conta também os usos desses sobrenomes no Rio Grande do Sul e no Brasil.
