Report of resistance: a legal-terminological analysis in a historical perspective

Resumo: The present study aimed to present a legal-terminological analysis in a historical perspective of the term report of resistance. As theoretical foundation, concepts of the Communicative Theory of Terminology and Socioterminology were adopted. From the methodological point of view, data were collected from digital bases of Brazilian legal norms and from newspapers. It has been hypothesized that the diachronic course of this term is related to socio-historical changes. The analysis revealed (a) that the term report of resistance explicitly entered the Brazilian legal system through an infralegal norm (Ordinance "E", no. 0030, of 12/06/1974) and (b) that a given socio-historical change (the creation of two specific infralegal norms between 1969 and 1974) resulted in conceptual changes in the term report of resistance (extending its scope from the civil procedural sphere to the criminal and the criminal procedural), these changes having caused a new socio-historical change (increasingly frequent use of the term in occurrences with deaths caused by State agents due to special procedures in which their presence results).

Adotaram-se como fundamentação teórica conceitos da Teoria Comunicativa da Terminologia e da Socioterminologia. Do ponto de vista metodológico, coletaram-se dados de bases digitais de normas jurídicas e de periódicos brasileiros. Hipotetizou-se que o percurso diacrônico desse termo está relacionado a mudanças sócio-históricas.
