Statistical-computational analyzes of authorship attribution: Augusto dos Anjos and the psychographed work Parnaso de Além-Túmulo

Resumo: In this article, we propose to present the results of a statistical textual study carried out with the psychographed work Parnaso de Além-Túmulo (1932), with emphasis on the analysis of the 31 mediumistic poems attributed to the Brazilian poet Augusto dos Anjos by the medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. The digital tool used was Hyperbase, in its online version (hyperbase.unice.fr/hyperbase/). The corpus is formed by 9 texts plus the 31 poems attributed to Augusto dos Anjos. Within the statistical and documentary functions of the tool used, we checked the distribution of frequencies, the distribution of functional words, the grammatical distribution and the use of bicodes and tricodes. As for the results of the analyses, we highlight that Parnaso de Além-Túmulo (1932) and the 31 poems attributed to Augusto dos Anjos are not stylistically close to Eu (1912), which has proven authorship by the poet from Paraíba. The supposed poems attributed to the authorship of dos Anjos are, in fact, closer to Lira immortal (1939), which was also psychographed by Chico Xavier.

A ferramenta digital utilizada foi o Hyperbase, em sua versão online (hyperbase.unice.fr/hyperbase/). O corpus é formado por 9 textos mais os 31 poemas atribuídos a Augusto dos Anjos. Dentro das funções estatísticas e documentárias da ferramenta utilizada, verificamos a distribuição de frequências, a distribuição das palavras funcionais, a distribuição gramatical e o uso de bicódigos e de tricódigos. Quanto aos resultados das análises realizadas, destacamos que Parnaso de Além-Túmulo (1932) e os 31 poemas atribuídos a Augusto dos Anjos não se aproximam, estilisticamente, de Eu (1912), que tem a autoria comprovada do poeta paraibano.
