A discursive approach of the genre advertisement in Portuguese Language teaching

Resumo: Several studies have revealed the importance of investing in a discursive approach of different genres in Portuguese language classes in basic education. However, there is still a lack of propositions that take into account the various semiotic modes that constitute these genres and that allow a systematized analysis of these modes together. In this perspective, we present, in this article, a proposal of teaching of the genre of advertising speech and an account of its application, in an eighth-grade class, of elementary school, of a school located in the rural area of the Federal District. This proposal was constructed based on the assumptions of Visual Design Grammar (KRESS; VAN LEEUWEN, 2006) and on the Bakhtinian approach to discourse genres (BAKHTIN, 2003). We believe that it was possible to get the student to perceive the joint action of the different semiotic modes in the construction of meanings, the specificities of the genre in focus and the importance of the relation between text and context for the reading and production of texts.

Contudo, há ainda uma carência de proposições que levem em conta os vários modos semióticos que constituem esses gêneros e que possibilitem uma análise sistematizada desses modos em conjunto. Nessa perspectiva, apresentamos, neste artigo, uma proposta de ensino do gênero do discurso anúncio publicitário e um relato de sua aplicação, em uma turma de oitavo ano, do ensino fundamental, de uma escola localizada na área rural do Distrito Federal. Tal proposta foi construída com base em pressupostos da Gramática do Design Visual (KRESS; VAN LEEUWEN (2006[1996]) e na abordagem bakhtiniana de gêneros do discurso (BAKHTIN, 2003 [1979]). Acreditamos que foi possível fazer com que o aluno percebesse que a relação entre texto e contexto é fundamental para que ele consiga ler, interpretar e produzir.
