Resumo: | Dealing with the history of the writing of sign languages, it’s possible to perceive the distant yearning of the users of those languages by a writing that reflects the constituent elements of the signs/words. Since writing enables to preserve the language and culture of a particular community. The work evidenced here is a cut from our Master's thesis and aims to disseminate the Brazilian writing system for sign languages - ELiS. Therefore, works related to the different writings developed for sign languages were used, owing to the studies related to the ELiS system. However, we have made two innovative contributions to ELiS: i) replacing the term types of signs by morphological categories and ii) creating the category signs without hands. |

However, we have made two innovative contributions to ELiS: i) replacing the term types of signs by morphological categories and ii) creating the category signs without hands.
