Complex Adaptative Systems and Applied Linguistic: organizing the literature of the area

Resumo: The present work aims to present a literature review concerning the studies based on the Complexity in the field of Applied Linguistics. It is based on the following premise: a systematized state-of-the-art study of the researches that approach the Complex Adaptive Systems (CASs) can contribute in a significant way to an awareness of the number of systems by the language teachers involved in their teaching work and in their praxis. The results indicate that the literature in the area already has a significant number of publications that understand: (1) "processes" (language acquisition language learning, reading instruction, teacher training...), (2) "spaces" (physical or virtual, such as a classroom, a Virtual Learning Environment, a blog, a online forum...) and (3) "concepts" (of language, autonomy, identity...) as CASs.

Parte-se da seguinte premissa: um estudo sistematizado do estado da arte referente às pesquisas que abordam os Sistemas Adaptativos Complexos (SACs) pode contribuir de forma significativa com uma tomada de consciência, por parte do professor de línguas, no que tange aos inúmeros sistemas inerentes a seu trabalho docente e sua práxis.
