Intercultural pedagogy as a teaching and learning approach of Portuguese as foreign language

Resumo: | This article presents the theoretical concepts of intercultural pedagogy and its implications in teaching and learning of Portuguese as foreign language. The cultural approach, a well-known subject and currently taken into account by researchers in foreign language studies, has been revised and expanded to an intercultural approach. From the cultural to the intercultural, the pedagogy used in PLE teaching dynamics allows greater interaction between different cultures and cultural identities present in the classroom, being also added to the Brazilian culture and language itself. The development of an intercultural pedagogy is the study subject of this article, since it falls within the objectives of building a work that leads students and teachers to acquire new meanings of learning and teaching. |

A abordagem cultural, bastante presente no ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras, tem sido revista e ampliada para uma abordagem intercultural, atualmente cada vez mais levada em conta pelos pesquisadores nos estudos em língua estrangeira. Do cultural ao intercultural, a pedagogia utilizada nas dinâmicas de ensino de PLE permite maior interação entre diferentes culturas e identidades culturais presentes em sala de aula, somadas à própria cultura e língua brasileira.
