Youths, participation, voice and action: reflections on an extension course

Resumo: In this experience report we present the experiences of a University Extension Course held in Recife, State of Pernambuco, Brazil, in the year 2018, which aimed the youth empowerment. Being conducted by instruction dynamics inspired by popular education inspired on the incentive to social participation of youth instigated by self-recognition as actors relevant to citizenship and identity affirmations, when the leaderships were subsidized by political, scientific and cultural practices and knowledge through new pedagogical technologies able to continue these and others actions. In addition to the descriptive considerations about the course, we bring the narratives of the trained students to develop field surveys, when they elaborated Diaries, whose interpretive analysis of the stories allows us the qualitative approximation of their realities and worldviews.

O curso foi conduzido por dinâmicas de formação, inspiradas nos preceitos da educação popular e pautadas no incentivo à participação social dos jovens instigados pelo autorreconhecimento enquanto atores relevantes para a cidadania, e em afirmações identitárias, quando as lideranças foram subsidiadas por práticas e saberes políticos, científicos e culturais através de novas tecnologias pedagógicas hábeis à continuidade destas e de outras ações.
