This article is a theoretical study that intends to analyze the bibliography on Integral Education in Brazil, with regard to its conceptions that emerged throughout history. The intention is to weave some positions on the discussions and problems raised from the research. We assume that the understanding of Integral Education has been changing according to experiences and models over the years and understanding how this happened is one of the objectives of this work. When analyzing the documentation on Integral Education in Brazil, we came across regional and national experiences, which allowed us to contextualize and shed light on the very understanding of Integral Education and its specificities in the Brazilian territory. Many of these experiences showed us that Integral Education was implemented in Brazil with more welfare objectives, instead of educational ones. Bringing up the context of these experiences can help us to understand some of the current problems in Brazilian education.
