Resumo: | This study aimed to understand how are constituted the meanings and senses in a popular prep course. The research was conducted with an ex-student who became a teacher and coordinator of a popular prep course from “Rede Emancipa” in the south zone of São Paulo. This qualitative study used two methodologic strategies: history of life and meaning cores, with theoretical framework founded on the historical-cultural psychology. The history of life method enabled the resignification of that was narrated by the interviewed, giving a new meaning to experience. The construction of meaning cores was carried out in stages, Pre-indicators and Indicators, what enabled the approach of the meaning and significance. The analysis shows that the popular prep course has the emancipation of those involved. The elucidation of the meaning and sense at the prep course enabled us the reflection of its effect to help in increasing the approval of the students in the entrance exam and it also indicates a different path than happens today for public education in Brazil. |

A pesquisa foi realizada com uma ex aluna, atual professora e coordenadora de um cursinho popular da Rede Emancipa na Zona Sul de São Paulo. Este estudo qualitativo utilizou-se de duas estratégias metodológicas: história de vida e núcleos de significação, com referencial teórico pautado na psicologia histórico-cultural. O método história de vida possibilitou a ressignificação do que foi narrado por parte da entrevistada, conferindo novo significado ao vivido. A construção dos núcleos de significação foi realizada por meio das etapas pré-indicadores e indicadores, o que possibilitou a aproximação do sentido e significado. A análise demonstra que o cursinho popular tem como zona mais estável de significado e sentido a emancipação dos envolvidos.
