Resumo: The objective of the present work is to analyze and systematize the contributions of the Agricultural Family Schools (EFA) linked to the Network of the Integrated Agricultural Family Schools of the Semi-Arid Region (REFAISA) in the training of young people of the field, through the medium professional technical education courses in agropecuária integrated to high school, for the performance of these subjects in the processes of local and sustainable development in the semi-arid and Agreste regions of the Brazilian Northeast. For that, a qualitative approach was chosen, using action research as a method and participative methodologies as tools for dialogues and problematization of realities throughout the activities developed between June 2017 and June 2018, with the social groups and subjects of the constituted field in the EFAs of Sobradinho, Correntina, Brotas de Macaúbas, Rio Real, Irará, Alagoinhas and Monte Santo, in the state of Bahia, and Ladeirinhas, state of Sergipe. The results show the trajectory and relevance of the pedagogy of alternation in the professional education of young people from the countryside to the full exercise of life, through educational processes contextualized with the reality of the subjects, through basic education integrated to professional training.
