Resumo: The early history of yellow media in Brazil is associated with the inclusion of fait divers in some of the oldest and more traditional Brazilian newspapers. Dismissed by historians either as unimportant / ahistorical events or as an expression of alienated popular culture, fait divers were one of the most crucial products for the consolidation of a society in which the role of the media is undeniably important. In this article, we continue an investigation on this subject from the angle of the criminal topos and draw a partial view of the first fait divers sections published in Brazil. Objeto desprezado pelos historiadores, considerado ora como evento sem importância ou mesmo a-histórico, ora como expressão de uma cultura popular alienada, foi produto dos mais centrais no processo de consolidação de uma sociedade em que as mídias exercem papel de inegável importância. Neste artigo, damos sequência a uma investigação sobre o tema tomando como recorte o tópos criminal e traçamos um panorama parcial das primeiras seções de fait divers publicadas no Brasil.
