Resumo: This lecture examines the use of photomontage procedures by the Brazilian photographic studios and their results: double and multiple portaits, mosaic-portraits, headless portraits and spirit photography. The article examines also the singularities of some photomontages by Valério Vieira and Gilberto Rossi and the use of the practice in the production of postcards in the first decades of XXth century.
