CHARACTERIZATION AND OF TRAILS IN LAJEDO DO BRAVO: BASES FOR GEOTOURISM AND GEOCONSERVATION

This research aims to characterize and classify the difficult degree of the trails of Lajedo doBravo area, in the countryside of Boa Vista, eastern side of the Cariri microregion (in thestate of Paraíba/Brazil), in order to organize the local geotourism activities. Themethodological procedures applied in this study consisted in (1) a theoretical review of thethematic; (2) interview with a local resident and main guide; (3) a visit in loco, for this, it hasbeen used stopwatch, compass, clinometer, digital camera and GPS Map Garmin CSX 60.After collecting the data, the trails were classified by degree of difficulty according to theproposal of Silva (2016). Three main trails were identified in the site namely the Trilha daMuralha, Trilha da Lagoa da Laje and the Trilha da Furna dos Tapuias, all of these areconsidered easy to development, according to methodology. The touristic activities carriedout in the area presented as an improvised nature, bearing in mind the absent of establishedcriteria for the realization of the trails in accordance with the geoenvironmentalparticularities.
