METHODOLOGY FOR IMPLEMENTING PERIPHERAL PARKING LOTS INTEGRATED TO THE METRO SYSTEM BASED ON SPATIAL ANALYSIS: CASE STUDY OF A METROPOLE IN NORTHEAST BRAZIL

Resumo: The study examines a methodological alternative for use of spatialized data to analyze implementation of peripheral parking lots in urban centers, which enables, among other benefits, greater integration between the subway and cars. The city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil was chosen as a case study in this work. The methodology was based on the use of applied spatial analysis techniques such as cluster comparison and evaluation of urban centers to search for vacancies, traffic conditions in stretches of roads and subway stations, in addition to location of individual motorized trips to determine the parameters proposed. The results show the possibility of deploying parking and ride facilities connected to subway stations in peripheral areas of the city whose current structure for this service is precarious. Considering the results, there is also the community potential for socioeconomic development linked to equipment that complements its function of promoting subway-automobile integration. The proposed method proved to be efficient in its objective and contrasts with the planning alternatives used for the implementation of public facilities.

Possibilitando dentre outros benefícios uma maior integração entre o metrô e o automóvel. Como estudo de caso, foi escolhida a cidade de Salvador, Bahia, Brasil. A metodologia baseou-se na utilização de técnicas de análise espacial aplicada como análises de agrupamento e avaliação de vizinhança das concentrações de vagas, localização dos centros urbanos, condições de trânsito em trechos de vias e estações de metrô, além de uma análise das origens das viagens motorizadas individuais para determinação dos parâmetros propostos. Os resultados mostram a possibilidade da implantação de parques de estacionamento ligados a estações de metrô em zonas periféricas da cidade que hoje dispõem de estrutura precária do serviço. Considerando os resultados, observa-se ainda um potencial comunitário de desenvolvimento socioeconômico ligado a tais equipamentos que complementam sua função de promover a integração metrô-automóvel.
