Resumo: The work presented analyzes the relevance of Hull House as an embryonic basis for the philosophical development of Viola Spolin's theater games, highlighting the importance of research by Neva Leona Boyd, John Dewey and Jane Addams for the systematization of Spolin's theater games. The bibliographic research methodology seeks to analyze and compare data from different scholars on the subject, such as: Paul Simon (1971), Viola Spolin (1963, 1986, 1999), Ingrid Koudela (1984), Neva Boyd (1971), among others, aiming to demonstrate that the philosophical bases of the systematization of theatrical games are denser than expected.

La metodología de investigación bibliográfica busca analizar y comparar datos de diferentes estudiosos del tema, tales como: Paul Simon (1971), Viola Spolin (1963, 1986, 1999), Ingrid Koudela (1984), Neva Boyd (1971), entre otros con el objetivo de demostrar que las bases filosóficas de la sistematización de los juegos teatrales son más densas de lo esperado.O trabalho apresentado analisa a relevância da Hull House como base embrionária para o desenvolvimento filosófico dos jogos teatrais de Viola Spolin, destacando a importância das pesquisas de Neva Leona Boyd, John Dewey e Jane Addams para a sistematização dos jogos teatrais de Spolin.
