Maintenance and Development Fund for Basic Education and value for education professionals (FUNDEB): a decade of public policy in the metropolitan region of Salvador (RMS)

Resumo: The exploratory-descriptive and documentary study, with a quantitative approach, investigates the execution of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and the Valorization of Education Professionals (Fundeb), in the period 2009-2019, in the context of five municipalities (Camaçari, Dias D’Ávila, Lauro de Freitas, Mata de São João and Simões Filho) from the Metropolitan Region of Salvador (RMS). The results obtained indicated that Fundeb made it possible to increase the volume of resources in the municipal education systems, however, aspects related to the pent-up demand in early childhood education, unavailability of resources for maintenance and development of education (MDE) and the decrease in enrollments in education. youth and adults (EJA) are challenges to be overcome.

Les résultats obtenus indiquent que Fundeb a permis d'augmenter le volume des ressources dans les systèmes éducatifs municipaux; cependant, les aspects liés à la demande refoulée en éducation de la petite enfance, à l'indisponibilité des ressources pour le maintien et le développement de l'éducation (MDE) et la baisse des inscriptions dans l'éducation des jeunes et des adultes (EJA) sont des défis à surmonter.O estudo de natureza exploratória-descritiva e documental, de abordagem quantitativa, investiga a execução do Fundo de Manutenção e Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica e de Valorização dos Profissionais da Educação (Fundeb), no período 2009-2019, no contexto de cinco municípios (Camaçari, Dias D’Ávila, Lauro de Freitas, Mata de São João e Simões Filho) da Região Metropolitana de Salvador (RMS).
