Resumo: Recent papers have pointed to a positive association between Covid-19 and air pollution variables. However, there is no research in Brazil that has used the set of environmental variables addressed in this research, as well as the methods employed for spatial analysis. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the association between carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) pollutants with the rate of cases and deaths from Covid-19 in the state of Rondônia between the years 2020 and 2021. For this, Pearson's correlation coefficient and the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression test were applied. Pearson's correlation pointed to very weak, weak, and moderate correlation between the rate of cases and deaths from Covid-19 and the air pollution variables with p-value > 0.05. The OLS Koenker (BP) and Jarque-Bera tests confirmed the non-existence of spatial association. With this, the evidence indicates no association between CO, SO2, O3 and NO2 with the rate of cases and deaths from Covid-19 in Rondônia in the analyzed period.
