Resumo: Objective: to associate environmental factors with hospitalizations and deaths from cerebrovascular disease in residents of the city of Nova Iguaçu. Methods: observational, retrospective, and analytical study. Air quality databases (PM10) from INEA, data on hospitalizations and deaths from DATASUS, due to cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) contained in ICD X (subchapters I63-I66 and I69) were used. Statistical inference was used as causes of hospitalizations and deaths from CVD divided by sex considering p-value ≤ 0.05. Environmental factors were correlated with hospitalizations and deaths from CVD. Statistical analyzes used SPSS IBM 25 software and graphic design for Excel and R studio. Results: Average annual PM10 averages exceeded CONAMA standards by 4.4 times. Males had a higher number of hospitalizations and deaths from cerebrovascular diseases, and in younger age groups, women. The correlation between upper air and hospitalizations was very strong positive (r = 0.990) and with deaths was positive and weak (r = 0.320). Conclusion: Despite the reduction in PM10 concentrations over the years, the values exceeded CONAMA standards, correlating with the increase in hospitalizations and deaths from CVD in the city.

As análises estatísticas utilizaram software SPSS IBM 25 e a confecção gráfica o Excel e R studio.
