Views on the curriculum for teacher education in the first higher Mathematics course in Northern Minas Gerais (1968-1978)

Resumo: | This article presents looks at the curriculum for teacher education in the first higher education course in Mathematics at the Faculty of Philosophy Sciences and Letters (FAFIL), in the north of Minas Gerais, in the years 1968 to 1978. We conducted an investigation based on narratives of memories and in educational documents of the time. Our objectives were to analyze aspects of these narratives and the documents that present evidence about the adopted curriculum, what was taught and learned in the course in focus and to register our impressions about the type of mathematics teacher who wanted to be trained. In our work, we have honored the methodology of Oral History, with the concern of articulating and making dialogue between oral and written. We conclude that the teachers developed their practices with the objective of training good Mathematics teachers in the perspective of traditional curriculum theories and that the adopted training model was based on rigor, revealing that the teaching and learning of Mathematics were intended for the intellectually gifted. |

Realizamos una investigación basada en narrativas de recuerdos y en documentos educativos de la época. Nuestros objetivos fueron analizar aspectos de estas narrativas y los documentos que presentan evidencia sobre el plan de estudios adoptado, lo que se enseñó y aprendió en el curso en cuestión y registrar nuestras impresiones sobre el tipo de profesor de matemáticas que quería ser capacitado. En nuestro trabajo, hemos honrado la metodología de la Historia Oral, con la preocupación de articular y establecer un diálogo entre lo oral y lo escrito. Llegamos a la conclusión de que los maestros desarrollaron sus prácticas con el objetivo de capacitar a buenos maestros de Matemáticas en la perspectiva de las teorías curriculares tradicionales y que el modelo de capacitación adoptado se basó en el rigor, revelando que la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las Matemáticas estaban destinados a los intelectualmente dotados.Este artigo apresenta olhares sobre o currículo para a formação de professores no primeiro curso superior de Matemática da Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras (FAFIL), no Norte de Minas Gerais, nos anos 1968 a 1978. Realizamos uma investigação fundamentada em narrativas de memórias e em documentos educacionais da época. Nossos objetivos foram analisar aspectos dessas narrativas e dos documentos que apresentam indícios sobre o currículo adotado, o que se ensinava e aprendia no curso em foco e registrar nossas impressões sobre o tipo de professor de Matemática que se queria formar. Prestigiamos, em nosso trabalho, a metodologia da História Oral, com a preocupação de articular e fazer dialogar o oral e o escrito.
