Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is one of the main causes of death among developed countries and the eighth basic cause of death in Brazil. Objective: To identify and understand use and access to care of people with diabetes inserted in the formal and informal labor markets. Methodology: Descriptive, quantitative and exploratory study. Results: Of the 78 users interviewed, 41 (53%) were female and 37 (47%) were male, aged between 18 and 60 years, the chronic health conditions presented were 3 (4%) with Type 2 Diabetes 1, 29 (37%) with Type II Diabetes and 46 (59%) with Type 2 Diabetes and Systemic Arterial Hypertension; and the age group with the largest number of participants was between 51 and 60 years old, with 49 (63%) of the participants and of these, 53 (68%) had primary education. 69 (88%) replied that they worked at the time of participation in the research and 27 (35%) performed Informal Work, 76 (97%) replied that they did not have difficulties in scheduling their consultations at the units, with 38 (97%) participating respectively. each unit. Conclusion: It is noteworthy that the Health Units surveyed had a good evaluation of their users, because when they leave with the next scheduled appointment, it is easier to organize themselves to attend, that is, organizing the schedules by appointment made it easier for workers, corroborating Health Care Planning proposals.
