Barreiras e suporte: evidências de validade de um instrumento integrado de variáveis contextuais de carreira

The Social Cognitive Career Theory emerged in the 20th century and presents itself with a large amount of evidence on how people are interested in and pursue certain careers. Within this tradition, there are studies on the perception of barriers and career support, which seek to understand the reasons that favor or hinder career development, with numerous psychometric scales that invest in recognizing individual perceptions. Although the field is relatively developed internationally, there is still a gap in scales to measure such themes in the Brazilian context. Therefore, the objective of this study is to translate, adapt and seek evidence of validity of the CBI-Likelihood, CBI-Coping and Career Barriers Questionnaire. At first, the scales were evaluated through exploratory factor analysis, aiming to investigate the adequacy of the factor structures for the Brazilian context. Then, confirmatory factor analyzes were carried out to verify the fit indices of the models found in the previous analysis. The results suggest that the factor structures recommended by the original studies could not be maintained, however, other factor solutions supported the plausibility of the models, as indicated by the adjustment indices. The validity evidences of both scales allow the proposition of an inventory that allows the analysis of perceptions of support and barriers in the career of different populations.
