Resumo: Introduction: Vaccination is of extreme importance to the population, especially to workers who are in contact with pathogens inherent to biological risks. In recent years, crises have influenced and influenced the understanding and acceptability of its application, with variables that make the population think negatively about their importance. These issues are demographic, socioeconomic, religious, scientific, political, and lack of trust due to to past experiences and even out of fear of a needle and pain. Objective: To analyze resistance to immunization, understand the reason people do not adhere to vaccination and observe moments of herd effect during the process. Methodology: An exploratory, descriptive study of individuals to be immunized with labor activity in industry, commerce, services and the military. The approach was qualitative following the theory of Michel Foucault and organization of the speeches of participants by software program Iramuteq. Results: A total of 33 patients were interviewed at the time of immunization, aged between 18 and 30 years, the majority (23 males) and 4 females were interviewed. The military was the majority with 17 interviews, , they carried the card at the time of the vaccination 20, 18 said they knew the importance of vaccination, but most said they did not participate in the campaign and did not seek the vaccine room for immunization, only as a child their mother took them. Trauma or physical violence in childhood were reported by 11 patients. In the organization of the speeches by the program, the words needle, doer, fear and arm stood out, suggesting a trauma at the moment of the first applications of vaccines. Conclusion: We conclude that the resistance / denial to the vaccination of adult workers comes from lifelong traumas through aggressive behaviors of responsible and identified the structuring terms of the spoken expressions, converging in prevention, obligation, excuse, importance and incoherence, a fact that suggests the herd effect produced by adults as a result of all past experience, resulting from denial and resistant to the immunization process.
