This research presents an analysis performances that use objects and religious themes on stage. It has as object of study the performances O Culto, a work of my own authorship, Desenhando com terços, by the Brazilian artist Márcia X., and the show The Gospel according to Jesus, Queen of heaven, starring in Brazil by the transsexual actress Renata Carvalho. Its goal is to make a critical analysis of Christian/Biblical discourses from the performances, focusing on gender and sexuality issues, establishing a relationship with historical, social, political, religious and legal events that involve these themes. During the analysis process, it was possible to identify that these works problematize religion in the bias of desecration, a concept articulated by Agamben (2007), by ignoring the sacred sense and emptying the concept imposed by religion on these themes and objects. Through this perspective, the writing is developed.
