The following work was carried out in the city of Canápolis-MG in order to investigate the characteristics of an area with natural vegetation and an anthropic area through pineapple cultivation, which will help to understand the use and occupation of the land, with the objective of analyzing and to investigate possible differences in the physical aspects of soil for the production of pineapple. For this it was necessary to analyze the physical characteristics of the soil with emphasis on density and to characterize the granulometry of the samples studied. In order to meet this proposed objective, a methodology was used based on three stages, where the first one counted on cabinet research, which served as a basis for the knowledge of authors who deal with this subject; the second one was the field survey, in which the study area was chosen, as well as the collection of the material for analysis, and finally, the laboratory research where the samples collected in the field were analyzed. From the collected samples the density of each one was defined, and then the granulometric analysis was done in order to classify the soil under study. However, we can conclude that from the granulometric analysis performed on the collected samples, the soil of the study area was classified as sandy loam, being the ideal for planting pineapple, already the density values, for all the samples of the planted area and of the preserved area were close and are within the ideal values for sandy soils.
