Implicações de um projeto de extensão em biologia marinha na formação de professores e graduandos em ciências biológicas.

University extensions emerged in England in the nineteenth century with the aim of assisting in continuing education and promoting community access to universities. The university extension projects contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge and to transcend the classrooms, breaking the barriers of the schools to relate the theory with the practice. A mutual exchange between community and university. In this way, the present work comes with the proposal to ascertain the facilities and difficulties of the participants of the extension project "From Minas to the Sea: a formative proposal in Marine Biology for licenciandos and professors of Biology" by teaching classes in Science and Biology teaching about the topic Marine Biology. Two semi-structured questionnaires were applied in two moments during the project, one before a trip to Ubatuba (SP), scheduled to happen in the project, and one after the trip for the participants, being 10 undergraduates of the licentiate course in Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Uberlândia and two professors of Uberlândia and region. The results indicate that the lack of content related to marine biology during the undergraduate course in biological sciences, the shortage of didactic resources and the distance from the coast hinder the contextualization of the theme. In this way, they understood that their experiences during the extension project were very important for the expansion of their knowledge. Finally, we believe in the relevance of the present study, since we were able to analyze questions that pervade the teaching of Marine Biology, to encourage teachers and future teachers to always seek new knowledge.
