A reinserção do Triângulo Mineiro na dinâmica global da (re)produção capitalista contemporânea do espaço

To better understand the current reality and the possible roles to be played by the Triângulo Mineiro mesoregion in contemporaneity, this paper proposes a regional analysis of the object of study, through a historical-geographic perspective. With the survey of data and information found at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the João Pinheiro Foundation (FJP), the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of Minas Gerais (FECOMÉRCIO-MG) and the Data Bank of Struggle for Land (DATALUTA), a discussion is presented about the supposed vocation of the region for agribusiness and how this has generated positive and negative consequences in the socio-environmental, political and economic situations, influenced by this assumption. There is in the mesoregion the presence of social movements that affront the impositions commanded by the capitalist reproduction of space, which spares no effort for the unbridled accumulation of capital. On the one hand, there is agribusiness that exploits the socio-environmental resources that the Triângulo Mineiro can offer, on the other, movements that fight for a more humane way of life and production, aiming at socio-environmental well-being. The work proposes as a conclusion the establishment of more conscious practices of capital (re)production in the Triângulo Mineiro for the coexistence of those who struggle for access and the right to land and a more dignified life in harmony with the environment, together with those who see the Triângulo as a regional-global power.
