The process of creating a videodance involves several stages of production, from its conception, writing the script, decoupage, filming and editing. In this sense, editing can be seen as the final stage of post-production. But this work proposes an expanded look at the term editing, recognizing a shift in this order of composition and identifying editing since the beginning of the process of creating a videodance. Based on this, it would be possible to change the conception of what we identified as choreographically composing in videodance. The choreography in a videodance is expanded beyond the person's body that composes movements for the camera. In this case, the choreographic composition would also be composed of framing, angles and effects – thought or not prior to the application of takes in the video editing software – which, in addition to allowing the actual work to exist, would modify this choreography. These changes were analyzed in screendances made by the author and a study of material from other artists. Recognizing editing as a process that encompasses the entire creation of a videodance has the power to enhance the language, giving depth and layers to the composition.
