Although organizational climate is one of the most investigated constructs, the literature has indicated the need to consider unique experiences lived by specific groups of workers. Thus, the concept of LGBT Climate was proposed, as the perception of the work environment as actively supportive or openly hostile to LGBT people. The objective of this work was to adapt the LGBT Climate Inventory (LGBTCI) to the Brazilian context, a procedure carried out in six stages: translation of the original instrument, synthesis of the translated versions, evaluation by expert judges, evaluation by target audience, backtranslation, and pilot study. The agreement indices among judges obtained adequate classification. The target audience suggested changes to the instrument. The back-translated version of LGBTCI was approved by the first author. In the pilot study, the one-dimensional structure presented good reliability (ω=0.96; α=0.96; λ6=0.98) and item-total correlations between 0.35 and 0.87. The results of this study indicated initial evidence of LGBTCI adequacy for the Brazilian context.
