Resumo: The first diagnosed with the presence of COVID-19 in Brazil and Latin America, took place in February 2020 in the city of São Paulo during the biggest celebration of the Brazilian population - Carnival (there was crowding, culminating in transmission), it was an elderly person 61 years old, male, with a clinical picture related to fever, cough, dyspnea, requiring admission to a hospital in São Paulo. Objective: To identify the profile of the first candidates to be vaccinated against COVID-19, being publicized by national news vehicles to receive the initial dose of the vaccine in the capitals and the most populous cities in Brazil. Method: This is a study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, of the documentary type. Information sources with public and free access linked to social media in 126 Brazilian cities (26 state capitals and the Federal District; and 99 most populous cities) were included, with 404 first vaccinated being included in the sample. Results: The nursing profession was represented by 53% of the first vaccinated, with the nursing technician 29% being the most representative class. The female gender (70.5%) and Negroid ethnicity (brown, 27.7% and black, 20.5) were characteristics of those chosen to be the first to be vaccinated, disclosed by the press on official news and information sites via the Internet. Conclusion: The predominant social characteristics in the representation refer to the profile of the society of the vulnerable generated by the health and economic crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which were represented through health professionals, the elderly and indigenous peoples. Although the social representation of the first vaccinated may not be consistent with the vaccination coverage against COVID-19, it is suggested that adherence to the vaccine can be stimulated through the guidelines of those chosen by the health secretaries of cities across the country , to the detriment of social conduct, identity legitimacy and social familiarization provided by social representation, which the priority groups that received the first dose of CoronaVac represent in the national context and in the inequalities faced in Brazil.
