This research aimed to verify the perception of Accounting Science course professors from Brazilian federal universities regarding the use of platforms, media and social networks as support tools in the teaching-learning process. For this, an online questionnaire was applied, through Google Forms, which led to 154 answers from professors from 31 different institutions. For the analysis, the descriptive statistics technique was adopted. The results show that most teachers use WhatsApp and Youtube as social media and networks in the teaching-learning process. As for the platforms, most of the respondents started to use them as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with emphasis on the adoption of Google Meet and Moodle. The use of platforms, media, and social networks helps in the sharing of class materials, interactivity, and speed in contact with the students. However, there is a need for greater preparation for the use of such technologies, since some teachers reported having difficulties and point out negative aspects, such as accessibility problems by the students.
