Resumo: When thinking about formal and non-formal education, it is noted that what crosses the pedagogy, memory and social movements are the exchange, teaching and learning of values, education. However, the education that crosses and / or connects these concepts is not based on a commercial, profit or return logic, but on the one that is critical, liberating and powerful in the sense of social transformation. It is from this perspective that the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terrra (MST) has guided its educational practices. This research seeks, in the light of a documentary analysis and based on historical materialism, in general, to interpret the educational process of the MST from an expanded conception, in order to identify and describe the educational processes and the internalization of knowledge within MST; what other sociocultural elements characterize the teaching-learning relationship within the movement and to discuss how the identified social and educational processes culminate in the formation of collective identities within the scope of MST and its relation to the logic of capital. As a result, formal and non-formal and popular education is approached and related to Marxist pedagogy, as well as some considerations about non-formal education and the current scientific field are pinpointed. It is also discussed MST and its educational perspective. Finally, a documentary analysis of the educational process within the MST will be used, seeking to reflect if its principles break with the logic of capital and formal education.

Entretanto, a educação que atravessa e/ou liga esses conceitos não se trata daquela embasada em uma lógica comercial, do lucro ou do retorno, e sim daquela que se pretende crítica, libertadora e potente no sentido de transformação social. É a partir desta perspectiva que o Movimento Sem Terra (MST) tem pautado suas práticas educativas. Esta pesquisa busca, à luz de uma análise documental e embasando-se no materialismo histórico, de modo geral interpretar o processo educacional do MST a partir de uma concepção ampliada, para assim identificar e descrever os processos educacionais e de internalização do conhecimento dentro do Movimento Sem Terra; quais outros elementos socioculturais caracterizam a relação de ensino-aprendizagem no interior do movimento e discutir como os processos sociais e educativos identificados culminam na formação de identidades coletivas no âmbito do Movimento Sem Terra e sua relação com a lógica do capital. Em função disso, aborda-se a educação formal e não formal e popular e as relaciona à pedagogia marxista, além de trazer algumas considerações sobre a educação não formal e o campo científico atual. Em seguida, discute-se o Movimento Sem Terra e sua perspectiva educacional.
