Resumo: | The principle of Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) in Periodontology is based on mechanisms of cellular handling, using physical barriers to promote a total sealing of a tissue defect with viable cells and promote periodontal regeneration. Based on the osteopromotion’s concept, the barrier is placed in direct contact with the surrounding bone surface to prevent other tissues, especially connective tissue, from interfering with osteogenesis and the direction of bone formation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop pure cellulose acetate membranes incorporated with calcium glycerophosphate, and to characterize its physical and chemical aspects. Spectrometry was used to analyze the final membrane degradation time, Scanning Electron Microscope for qualitative analysis of surface morphology and fractures, wettability through contact angle and barrier properties (water vapor permeability). The degradation time of the developed membranes was 100 days and, in addition, they presented viable morphology and sufficient porosity to diffuse nutrients and allow cell exclusion. Thus, the potential for the use of membranes as a barrier in the regeneration of bone and periodontal tissues was observed. |
