In Health Care Establishment (HCE), there are basically three circumstances in which new medical equipment purchase take place: the construction phase of a new health center; phase of expansion or creation of a new sector within the HCE and technology replacement phase, either because it's outdated or damaged. The standardization of activities within an institution is always seen as a need or workaday, this varies depending on the maturity in which it’s found. In an organization that has as main activity the provision of health services, standardization in its practices are indispensable for quality in all procedures, either seeking to maintain the value and competence in its achievements or seeking to maintain profitability and decrease of wastedness maladministration. A standardization proposal that is widely used in large corporations is the use of the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) that aims to level and minimize the occurrence of deviations in the execution of essential activities, increasing the performance and reliability of the processes. That is, a cohesive POP assures associates that at any time that an action is performed the quality will be the same, regardless of the process or the performer. The objective of this work is to prepare a POP (and its annexes) of the activity of receiving medical-assistance equipment from a Health Care Establishment, increasing the predictability of results and minimizing the variations caused by malpractice and random adaptations, providing the reduction of deviations in the act of receiving equipment, parts and accessories by the Health Care Establishment. In order to elaborate the Standard Operational Procedure, several Government and private materials were used, in order to have the greatest didactic variation in the material that was made in stages, which are revised using the quality tool: 5W1H, which seeks the feasibility of having all tasks performed or selected in a careful and objective manner. The result of the work was the elaboration of a general SOP that can be adapted as the Institution needs.
