Maintaining a high quality of care at the Health Assistant Establishment (HAE) is one of the greatest objectives to be achieved. The safety of the patient must be ensured and the availability of the Medical Assistant Equipment (MAES) must be in good condition for use.The maintenance performed by the clinical engineer contributes to the achievement of these objectives. The Clinical Hospital of the Federal University of Uberlândia (HC-UFU) has its own sector for the maintenance of this equipments, called BioEngineering, which is responsible for the entire technological equipment of the hospital. This work was carried out based on data extracted from a maintenance management system, called SisBiE, in the period of the year 2019. 4,079 equipment and 127 hospital units were analyzed. Studies already exist with published prioritization methods, but the vast majority are studies that assign quantitative values based on the risk and function of these devices.However, for BioEngineering at HC-UFU, these applications are not sufficient for a complete analysis that the sector needs. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a prioritization method, and apply it to the studied equipment, with new criteria and to reassess the old ones to establish the order that each equipment will have in the execution of the hospital's maintenance. We defined as final criteria: risk factor; failure factor; importance factor; quantification factor. For analysis, we grouped the equipment with the same function, a prioritization order was assigned by the sum of scores of the factors mentioned. With that, we had a result which the highest score is equivalent to the equipment that needs more attention, that is, with a high priority. And the lower this score is, the lower the priority. With this research completed, we determined the order of prioritization of maintenance for each equipment studied, aiming to optimize the work of the team responsible for these maintenances.
