Resumo: The beef production chain is considered an agro-industrial complex (AIC) brings prac-tices related to the production of inputs, farms, slaughterhouses and distribution. Its importance for the national economy can be seen in the fact that Brazil has become throughout history one of the main beef producers and exporters in the world, being the first in the ranking of bovine beef exporters in 2020, exporting 2.2 million tons of beef around the world, representing 14.4% of the segment in the international market. In ad-dition, Brazil currently has the largest commercial herd in the world, formed by approx-imately 217 million heads, representing 14.3% of the world herd. For this reason, this final paper, through a bibliographical review, seeks to demonstrate the importance of the Bovine Beef Complex for the national economy, testing the hypothesis that the evolu-tion of the bovine beef AIC occurred intensely, bringing with it expansionist characteris-tics in which refers to the volume of production and exportation, becoming an indispen-sable activity for the Brazilian agribusiness economy.

Sua importância para a economia nacional pode ser apontada no fato de que que o Brasil se tornou ao longo da história um dos principais produtores e exportadores mundiais de carne bovina, situando-se na primeira posição do ranking de exportadores de carne bovina em 2020, com 2,2 milhões de toneladas exportadas de carne (TEC), representando 14,4% do segmento no mercado internacional. Além disso, o Brasil conta atualmente com o maior rebanho comercial do mundo, formado por um efetivo de aproximadamente 217 milhões de cabeças, representando sozinho 14,3% do rebanho mundial.
