Resumo: | Entrepreneurship is an important source of income generation, especially in crisis scenarios it proves to be a driver of economic growth. The COVID-19 pandemic is a crisis that has caused industrial and commercial activities to slow down due to protective measures. entrepreneurship is a complex phenomenon that can be studied at different levels and approaches, in the present work the focus is on the motivation for entrepreneurship, the central objective of the work being to understand the motivations for entrepreneurship of workers from the State of Rondônia during the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic (COVID-19). This study is a qualitative research, with interviews based on a semi-structured script. A convenience sample of 6 participants who worked in different segments was used. Based on the speeches of the participants, the motivations for undertaking were classified as: support from third parties; personal development; bring people together; autonomy; opportunity; financial; altruism; personal interests and past knowledge and experience. The findings allow us to argue that entrepreneurs in the state of Rondônia were motivated to start a business in the midst of a pandemic due to different and interrelated factors, with the need for alternative sources of income being one of the most cited. All findings are compared with the academic literature. |
