The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) presents great importance in the Brazilian diet, presenting itself as a great source of proteins, vitamins and iron, being cultivated in all states. The objective of this work was to evaluate the common bean genotypes of the black group, in relation to their cultivation and use values, in the winter season, in 2015. The experiment was conducted at the Água Limpa experimental farm in Uberlândia, MG, Brazil. the evaluated characteristics were: pods per plant, grains per pod, mass of 100 grains and productivity. The experimental design was done in randomized blocks with 12 treatments (BRS Campeiro, BRS Esplendor, BRS Esteio, BRS Valente, Ouro-Negro, CNFP 11978, CNFPMG 11-06, CNFPMG 11-08, CNFPMG 11-18, CNFPMG 11 -21, VP-30 and VP-31) and three replicates, totaling 36 plots. The experimental plot consisted of four lines with 4 m in length and spaced 0.5 m apart. Each experimental plot had a total area of ​​8 m² and 4 m² of floor space, since only the two central lines were used. For the statistical analysis, the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability was used. The treatments had no significant difference for the variables: number of pods per plant and productivity. Regarding grains per pod, there was a significant difference, in which the genotypes BRS Esplendor, BRS Esteio, CNFPMG 11-18, CNFPMG 11-21 and CNFPMG 11-08 presented the highest averages. For the mass characteristic of 100 grains there was also a significant difference, the treatments VP-30, CNFPMG 11-08, Ouro Negro, BRS Campeiro and BRS Esteio presented higher mean values ​​than the others.
