This monograph focuses on the dilemmas of the subject’s identity in front of the representation carried out by Literary Journalism, using the piauí magazine as the object of study. Seeking to answer the central question: “How does Literary Journalism produce the representation of subjects in reports from the piauí magazine?”, we investigate three reports about tragedies published in the periodical between 2014 and 2020. With the Dialectic Method and cultural analysis, that belong to the scope of Cultural Studies, we use a dialectical orientation of historicity in which the dimension of culture is a primordial point, and the research driver is the historical and collective subject. We verified that the answer to the posed question is not universal, varying with each report. Not always, Literary Journalism values the production of meaning and the quotidian as elements of historicity based on the other. We understand, in this monograph, that it is not necessarily the use of Literary Journalism resources that entails the representation of the subject close to his identity.
