Early postoperative mobilization of cardiac surgeries with cycloergometer for lower extremities presents great advantages for prognosis, for this reason, it is important to evaluate the effects of this protocol concerning physiology and its impacts on the individual in post-surgical recovery. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze and interpret, in a qualitative and quantitative way, the cardiorespiratory variables correlating them to the physical exercise protocol. METHODS: The variables of heart rate (HR), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) were measured using a parametric monitor of vital signs. Respiratory rate (RR) was measured by breath count. In order to evaluate the effort of the lower extremities and sensation of dyspnea, the OMNI and the modified Borg scales were used, respectively. In addition, the data were recorded in the evaluation forms, being collected in the periods of 5, 10, 15 and, at the end, at 20 min of execution of the protocol. RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences for HR, RR and effort sensation of lower extremities through the OMNI scale and dyspnea sensation through the modified Borg scale.
