Barreiras de acesso à saúde e vulnerabilidade da população trans: uma revisão integrativa de literatura

Introduction: Despite advances in research and public policies, the trans population still faces difficulties in accessing health services, keep them away from health care. Objective: To analyze access barriers of the trans population to health services in national and international literature. Method: Integrative review carried out in SciELO, PubMed and EMBASE databases. Empirical articles published between 1998 and 2022, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, carried out in countries with emphasis on transspecific health care, with participants aged 18 to 65 years, were included and categorized by content analysis. Results: 57 articles were selected for the study. 210 units of records relating to barriers were identified, divided into six categories: lack of inclusive policies; inadequacy of service networks; incompatibility of health services to the needs of the trans population; health professionals' lack of training; transphobia in health services; and lack of information and stigma in health care. Conclusions: The barriers identified demonstrate that trans people are still subject to individual, social and programmatic vulnerability. Most categories concern institutional barriers, indicating the need for government actions that promote and strengthen trans-inclusive public policies.
