Breast cancer is the most common type among women, affecting 2.09 million people worldwide and the fifth leading cause of death according to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). As a form of control, mammography is considered the standard exam for screening and diagnosing the disease worldwide. Technical professionals in mammography play a fundamental role when performing the exam, as they act directly in the acquisition process. Thus, the correct application of the techniques directly affects the result and quality of the mammographic exam. This work proposes a training methodology aimed at mitigating the gap between the initial and continuous training of students in mammography techniques. The methodology consists of a gamified module with Virtual Reality (VR) techniques and a quiz module to assist in training management. The Management and Questionnaire Module provides input and assists in training management. The Gamified Module is composed of a high-fidelity graphical virtual mammography room. The virtual environment was developed to allow easy expansion of the training scope with new levels (phases). Finally, the modules are compared with existing solutions in the literature. In comparison with other works, this work unites attributes found sparsely in other systems, such as gamification, extensibility and VR. However, a study with users must done to measure and validate the usability of the system and the effectiveness of the methodology presented in the training.
