Resumo: | This work presents the physical and mathematical modeling of flows for arbitrary fluids, where the dynamics and the thermal energy transport in the flow are contemplated. Such modeling is particularized for the case of Newtonian fluids with constant properties in incompressible flows, simplifications that allow the numerical-computational modeling addressed in the present study. Where the fractional step method (projection method) is employed for pressure-velocity coupling. Computational routines are developed and implemented in FORTRAN 90 programming language, where the equations are discretized by the finite difference method and solved in a two-dimensional domain. Simulations are conducted in order to verify the order of convergence of the numerical method used, validate the computational code developed and analyze the influence of dimensionless parameters on the flow characteristics. From the numerical results obtained, it is observed that the developed code presents second order of convergence and the numerical results obtained are in agreement with the results presented in the literature. |
