The quality of services provided by the Health Assistant Establishments (HAE) depends mainly on the good working structure and quality of the medical equipment used to assist. One of the clinical engineering's attribution is to create a good supervision and management program for jobs provided to hospitals, especially the maintenance program. The maintenance has a responsible role of guaranteeing the reliability, efficiency and quality of the equipment. The Hospital de Clínicas da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (HCU-UFU) is a huge establishment, that holds hound about 4000 equipment's. To manage and maintain efficiently both preventive and corrective, in a way that does not get in the way of the workers routine and does not hold back patients of receiving an adequate treatment, strategies are necessary. With that in mind, the goal of this study was to classify all of the equipment's being critically high, medium or low. Criticality can be defined as the danger to which one is exposed when an equipment fails or is not in perfect condition. The more critical an equipment is, the faster its problem should be solved. The enormous amount of equipment at the HCU-UFU made it necessary, for this job, to be analysed and organized in families, so that we could then classify them. For this evaluations, scores were used quantitatively, a physical risk and a scale of importance. Finally, the results of this study can be used as one of the indicators for the prioritization of maintenances, facilitating the organization and management of the same.
