INTRODUCTION: Shoulder tendinopathy is understood as dysfunction in dynamic stabilizer’s tendons that has a multifactorial cause, and may present inflammatory signs due to the increased release of cytokines and immunomodulatory factors capable to cause pain and sensitivity in affected limb. This condition commonly causes musculoskeletal changes that results in reduced functionality, low quality of life and, in some cases, absenteeism at work environment. Through clinical reasoning consistent with factors that cause tendinopathy, in order to reach the most effective line of treatment, learn about available interventions for the conservative management of such a condition becomes essential. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is to investigate the most relevant available treatments for shoulder involvement in tendinopathy. METHODOLOGY: A literature review was carried out by searching the US National Library of Medicine (PUBMED) and Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) databases, where the terms “SUBACROMIAL PAIN SYNDROME'' were used in PEDro and the addition of the Boolean operator “AND” to “rehabilitation” in the PubMed database. RESULTS: From the analysis of the full text of 10 systematic reviews, the main treatments of choice for conditions that affect shoulder were identified, being analyzed by grouping these interventions in physical exercises, physical therapeutic resources and passive therapy. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that studies suggest the most explored and efficient physiotherapeutic interventions currently described are active, specific or general exercises for pain and function outcomes.
