Quality is linked to compliance with product requirements, suitability for use, among other factors. There are several quality systems capable of improving the business of a company, but it is necessary to employ techniques to facilitate their implementation. In this sense, an alternative is the use of these systems associated with statistical tools. Some systems for quality improvement in works are the PBQP-H, a program created by the federal government whose goal is to organize the construction industry around the improvement of habitat quality and modernization of production and ABNT NBR ISO 9001: 2015 whose main objective is to constantly improve practices to meet the needs of customers, reaching the desired level of satisfaction at the end of the consumer chain. One method for quality control is Six Sigma, which allows a parameterization of the data to improve the production processes of a company. Six Sigma brings quality elements such as the structured adoption of statistical thinking and the intensive use of statistical tools and the systematic analysis of variability. In this work, a field research was carried out with the purpose of obtaining parameters for the application of the Six Sigma method in civil construction. The research served as a basis to verify the main nonconformities occurring in works and their main generating causes. From the data obtained in the research questionnaires, the Six Sigma method was applied to a single-family residence project. The obtained results indicated an intermediate level Sigma and that indicates the necessity of improvements in the productive process.
