Resumo: Cerebral Palsy (CP) is characterized by a lesion in the Central Nervous System (CNS) that leads to changes in motor behavior. One type of PC classification is in relation to the topography of the lesion, such as diplegia, for example, using as a physiotherapeutic treatment the Bobath method, to minimize the consequences of these disorders. The objective of the present study was to observe the improvement and increase of the motor capacity of children with CP through the Neuroevolutionary Concept - Bobath Method. It is characterized by a prospective, longitudinal study of evaluative character through the application of the Bobath method in patients with cerebral palsy. An evaluation form was completed in the form of a questionnaire, shortly after the GMFM evaluation began, which took 15 to 20 minutes, and then we started the 50-minute Bobath session, totaling 8 Treatment sessions. According to the evaluation, our sample consisted of 3 girls (75%) and 1 boy (25%), of these, 2 (50%) were Caucasian and 2 (50%) brown. The mean age of these children was 8.5 (± 1.5) years and the mean weight was 29 (± 5.65) kg. Student's t-test was used, prioritizing the significance level of p less than 0.05. Statistically significant improvement was observed in the interindividual analysis of B, D and E dimensions when compared to the first and last evaluation [T: -4.7617 (p: 0.0020)]; (P: 0.0341)], there was no significant difference in the D dimension [T: -3.4641 (p: 0.0741)]. Physiotherapeutic intervention based on the neuroevolutionary concept Bobath contributed to the qualitative evolution of the functional performance of the participants with cerebral palsy in the gross motor skill, but more than eight therapy sessions and a larger number of children are necessary for a better result.

Kishi, Marcos SeizoLange, CristianeNascimento, Taynah LopesNogueira, Mariana Luisa2019-01-14T12:13:32Z2019-01-14T12:13:32Z2017-06-30info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfNOGUEIRA, Mariana Luisa; NASCIMENTO, Taynah Lopes.
